With a start time of 9:55pm, Dave and I decided on a spontaneous trip to see the movie “Strays.” The news that it was “National Cinema Day” coupled with the incredibly low ticket price of $4 made the decision even easier. Plus, with the assurance that Grandma Carol and Grandpa Richard could handle Evelyn’s teeth brushing and bedtime routine, we were all set.
Now, why “Strays,” you ask? Well, the answer is simple: there were no other movie options available at the time.
As we stood in line to purchase a large popcorn, Dave made a conscious decision to go easy on the butter this time around. I learned my lesson from the last time when I overindulged and ended up feeling sick.
In the midst of typing this, Dave tapped me on the shoulder with widened eyes and exclaimed, “They only charged me half!” Talk about an unexpected twist!
