Morsels of More Glee

Graphic design feels like a bottomless pit, sucking away every ounce of my being and refusing to release its sticky grip. It all began innocently enough with the creation of an Instagram account for More Glee Counseling, my business. Soon after, I found myself reactivating my Canva account, embarking on a two-week trial, and generating mental health-related content while bouncing around at an indoor trampoline park for my daughter’s friend’s birthday.

In the midst of this whirlwind, I sought advice from my friend Lindsay, a social media marketer, on optimizing my setup for engagement. With valuable insights from her and creative input from my Instagram-savvy step-mom, I delved into Canva to establish a brand with a color palette and font preferences. The result? A collection of valuable infographics that demanded my meticulous attention.

Despite my intention to start writing this post an hour ago, my attention to detail and obsessiveness took precedence.

Meanwhile, the festive spirit has taken hold in my home, marked by a towering 7-8 foot light-up Frosty the Snowman. Unearthing the oversized cardboard box labeled “Donate” from a neighbor giveaway, I hesitantly plugged it in, only to be pleasantly surprised by its radiant glow.

Frosty, with a large candy cane in hand, stands taller than my daughter Evelyn. Another holiday gem is a tree ornament featuring Lucy conversing with Charlie Brown through a window, adorned with a sign that humorously reads “Psychiatric Advice 5 cents.” While I initially sought to include the cent symbol, it seems to be absent from my keyboard.

As I reflect, there’s more on the tip of my tongue, fueled by an undercurrent of excitement. Despite lingering congestion and a sore throat, a positive outlook seems to grease the wheels of life. I hope your world is as positively charged as mine.

With love, Jaclynn
