I’m grateful to myself for the friendships I’ve created, invested, and maintained. This weekend has shown me the fruits these trees planted long ago bear, and oh, how sweet they taste.
There are times I feel bad when the topic of our move to Georgia comes up, and I feel words stuck in my throat. Words I don’t even know. I keep working to decipher where this stutter step is coming from – do I really not want to move, sometimes, do I feel like I’m disappointing people, maybe. One second, I just had a thought. I imagined that a friend was moving, and I felt that pang of them gone, vanished, never to be heard of again.
Because that happens when people move, doesn’t it?
I am excited to design a house though. I’m also nervous as hell. What light fixture, doorknob, color of wall, carpet, positioning of spigots—I mean every single detail. You bet when we were at Richard’s house and he showed us his favorites and regrets of his kitchen remodel, I paid attention. Soapstone countertops? A must-have. Not having a second smaller sink in the kitchen? They didn’t think of it. The question I am struggling with – a gas or induction stovetop? I have my sister-in-law in love with her gas stove, and Richard in love with his induction.
I’m tempted to do a remote-activated projector screen in our living room. With the vaulted ceilings how they are, I don’t have a clue where the projector itself would go, so probably it won’t work. Plus, I’m equally interested in upgrading the TV I bought 10 years ago with a Frame by Samsung.
Have you seen the videos of people removing tonsil stones by pressing the inside of their mouths to pop them out? They look like tiny smooth teeth, and if you take a whiff, be prepared, they stink! I didn’t know anything about them until a couple of friends mentioned them, and although that was years ago, I’ve had a couple pop off onto my tongue since. Just last week I found one on my tongue, which if you know me, I love all things body ooze from pores, ear holes, or mouth pockets. So, the anticipation that there’s another one in there is more than I can take, so I’m planning a flashlight, end of a pen, and playing around back there. As you can see, I have a big day tomorrow.
Oh shoot, it’s New Year’s Eve tomorrow too. Which will definitely take a back seat to my mouth ordeal.
Happy New Year’s Eve eve everyone!
Love, Jaclynn
PS How about a couple photos from our time at my friend’s condo. He’s going to have a great spot for the Space Needle’s fireworks show tomorrow night, eh?
