In no particular order, I present the noteworthy sightings on a post-workday walk around town.
First up, an antennae contraption.

On a sleepy residential neighborhood this “to the moon!” very wired device caught my eye. The pleasure I derived from imagining the neighbors’ cries of depreciating home values contrasted with my thoughts of the satellite owners’ joy at getting one back at the man was quite the fun thought process.

Next up, is the ominous gray sky, which thankfully never spilled itself, but surely applied pressure to my step while evoking a mix of excitement and unsettlement simultaneously.
I could have easily missed the moment of pausing my walk outside the emergency glass doors to the YMCA pool. Witnessing my husband holding his arms out for Evelyn to swim to, equipped with her goggles and beaming face, was a heartwarming sight. There was slight fear that I might be mistaken as a creeper voyeur photographer, but me assure you, it’s for my blog, I swear!

Observing the long line outside the community food bank every morning serves as a daily reminder that this world needs people like you and me – individuals willing to fight the good fight to make a positive change, even if it doesn’t mean fixing all the world’s problems.

And how can I forget the overpoweringly lovely scent of garlic wafting through the air when passing a home or outside restaurants? It’s a sensory delight.

Speaking of Italian food, Dave said something this morning that brought a tear to my eye. “Jaclynn,” he said, “I know you said you didn’t want to do anything for your birthday, but what if we went out to dinner with Kristen and Kevin? Would you like to do something like that?” His thoughtful consideration of my needs beyond what I could express for myself was truly touching, and I’m so glad he asked. Because Olive Garden here we come!
Love, Jaclynn
