The elusive, never-done unicorn of hygiene tasks, aka flossing, is alive and well in our house. Neither Dave nor I had jammed that tiny string between our teeth until this past year. Why now? Like all of life’s unanswerables, who knows, but it sure does feel good. Especially the not having my gums bleed part; those bad boys are toughened up and free of debris.
The exercise groove is being set in place currently as my YMCA membership is back active. I’m a fan of their indoor track. It’s on the second floor, giving me a bird’s eye view of the indoor pool area, and basketball courts, and with huge bay windows I get to see the sun shining while light rain fell today, making it feel like the part in Bambi when the April Showers song started up with drops bouncing off leaves to singular notes being played.
I’m impatient. I want results for my body now. The S-curve of my tummy to bum reminds me of all I haven’t done. But I’m doing stuff! So body, dang it, change!
I am fasting three days a week, meaning I’m only eating at dinner time Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. I’ve intermittently fasted a lot in the past, enjoyed it, and am hopeful that will help balance the overindulgent days like yesterday. I wish there was a calorie measurement of everything I put in my body, kind of like how my smartwatch tracks steps. I’d like a stop point that shuts down my mouth so no more food could enter. “Closed for Maintenance” could be the notification.
I am clear about this much; I am not on a diet.
I’m thinking of downloading PowerWash Simulator and playing it in virtual reality. The $24.99 price tag for the four out of five-star reviewed game gives me pause, as it will likely be a fun novelty but not something I’ll do after tonight. Thankfully, I can try it and return it if I play for two hours or less. If I keep playing it, I guess I’m committing to a future of cleaning mud and muck off buildings, cars, and anything else they throw at me in fakesy land.
Our dang Christmas tree is still up. Can you come over and take it down for me? It seems daunting. All the individual ornaments need to be stowed away, but as for the tree, I’m pretty sure we’re gifting it to someone. This reminds me that I did take a photo, so maybe once I’m done here, I’ll post it on Buy Nothing so someone can pick it up tomorrow.
The word on the street is it’s about to get cold! I’m pulling up the weather now, and it appears it’ll get down to 13 degrees this Friday night. Our already-on-the-fritz furnace is barely hacking it with the weather in the 40s (the other morning we woke up to it at 60 degrees), so I’m slightly worried. Our friend recently fixed his furnace and seems to think it’s not that hard, and had faith that Dave and I could do it ourselves. I’m hesitant, but also why not? Perhaps tomorrow while Evelyn’s in school, Dave and I can push buttons and unscrew things.
Oh, and get rid of that tree!
I hope you had a wonderful weekend, and go Huskies tomorrow…
Love,
Jaclynn
