In the go-go-go of awaiting a document from a lawyer in Georgia, meeting a notary in the Bonney Lake library, asking a perfect stranger to bear witness and sign the document, and then an easy handoff at FedEx, it’s nice to sit, a calm before the leg two of the storm.
Thankful I’m not in an actual storm like my parents, who, despite a lush getaway cruising the Australian and Asian coastlines, the weather for as far as they can see is thunder, lightning, and large swells. I need some Dramamine just thinking about it.
Up next is mopping, and food prep which includes grating parmesan, and mincing garlic. Already done is the breaded chicken and zuppa toscana soup, which if you don’t know, is one of Olive Garden’s soups that has sausage, potato, bacon, and kale. And let me tell you, with all that salty savory goodness, you can’t even tell there’s kale in there.
There are two copycat recipes Dave and I do that taste the same, if not better than the restaurant – one is Chick-fil-A sauce and the other is the soup I’m making. During COVID, Dave tried out a handful of sauce recipes until he found the perfect one, and since we’re not a secret recipe-hoarding family, I’d be happy to get it for you.
One if my favorite moments from today was in FedEx at the wire greeting card area. A baby dressed up in a wig had Evelyn shield her eyes from it as if the sun were too bright. I didn’t disagree because it was pretty bad. When I told Dave who was in line, the workers both moved from their posts to watch, and there were collective laughs, as well as affirmation that she wasn’t wrong.

With the dinner party over, our friend is heading downstairs to the guest bedroom, as Dave and I heading upstairs to bed. If you can believe it, we had a sing-along tonight. With Dave at the piano and the five of us with lyrics pulled up on our phones, we sang “Open Arms” by Journey and “Yellow Submarine” by the Beatles. An added bonus was the impromptu wooden music spoons played by Joanne, providing a clappity rhythmic beat to the whole thing.
I also got some good consultation from Richard regarding the patient I fear has schizophrenia. I’m now leaning towards Bipolar but will go through the symptoms in a session with the person to determine a yay or nay. I also learned a few other interesting things. Did you know that due to the potency of marijuana, it is inducing schizophrenia in people? Specifically 14-17 year olds. Whereas in the olden days, marijuana had 5% THC, things like dabs and certain strains are in the 70’s or 80’s. I’ll be passing on this article to a couple of my younger clients who think they’re invincible.
Ok, well, it’s been a long night and I’m ready for beddy-bye. Love ya! Jaclynn
