Since it had been handed down to me, and my effort could be better spent than haggling for a few twenties, I gladly passed my hefty cream coffee table with a 20”x20” piece of glass at its center on to a member of our gifting community. I particularly enjoyed reading the ten interested parties’ messages and letting Evelyn pick one. Something about one person’s coffee table being old, and getting a new one was too expensive got her.
Where the table once sat, there are now several baggies filled with wire, twine, colored paper, and wood pieces. All of it is out of a DIY miniature greenhouse kit I received for Christmas four years ago. I tried doing it then but after too many complicated and intricate parts I put it way where it sat inside the coffee table ever since.
Why pick it up today? Because I was looking for something to do. Something that wasn’t reading, painting the wall, playing a video game, eating, doing progress notes, or playing Paw Patrol with Evelyn. So when I organized the space and wondered where to store the box, I also revisited how complicated I remember it being but then thought, “Yeah, but someone somewhere did it, so you can too.” I suppose a little belief in myself was all it’d been missing.
If you’re curious, this is what paying $2,800 to Staging with Style will get you, I got the quote moments ago. “We would bring a family room set for the downstairs area and a tent, a headboard and some decor for the guest room, an office in the bedroom downstairs, a sitting area in the primary bedroom and nightstands, decor, wall art throughout the home, bar stools, kitchen decor, coffee table and rug for the living room and a console table, decor, wall art, we would add touches to each room and outdoor furniture set and chairs for the fire pit.”
Now, the real question is, will adding all that get us a higher price tag on selling our house in the end?
I had a mini-crisis earlier. Remembering I hadn’t sent a release of information to a client, had 12 undone progress notes, and two unreturned emails felt insurmountable. Yet now, a few hours later and having only completed nine of the twelve notes, and nothing else I’m feeling much, much better. I see that my character is not tied into those tasks, and not having them done does not say something negative about me.
Anyway, it’s night two in my cute white frilly comforter, and I’m anticipating another lovely night’s sleep. Well, except for my angsty dreams about blood getting everywhere on it. I’m not good with white, but it sure looks good.
Love you guys! Love, Jaclynn
