A Dynamic Duo Strikes

As you know, I’m quite the expert at selling second-hand goods. Tonight’s sale featured our nearly perfect condition chair-and-a-half, marked down from $1,000 to $340. The interested buyer’s profile image showcased her in a black lace bra and thong underwear, accessorized with fuzzy gray boots that reached mid-calf. Tattoos crept up both her arms, extending from the top of her shoulders to the base of her wrists. She also sported a thigh tattoo featuring multiple images of a curved metal blade. In the photo, she was propped up with one arm behind her and the other draped over her knee, her head tucked to her chest. Her toned abs were on display, accompanied by a tiny piercing above her navel, and her legs were spread open. When I showed Dave and Patrick who our potential guest buyer would be, Patrick exclaimed, “I can’t look at that, I’m married.”

She arrived with her partner, who resembled a SWAT officer for the president, a little before 9pm and together they entered like a dynamic duo. I instantly felt drawn to them; their chemistry was infectious, and their lively conversation was entertaining. Knowing that Dave and Patrick could delay their board game for a bit, I took the opportunity to inquire into subjects further. Specifically, needing to know more about knee injury that pulled muscles off the knee like “folded up like window blinds”. The whole time her man spoke, the woman sat in our/her living room chair like we were all swingers having an after-session smoke. We talked about Washington state problems, Georgia’s lack of unemployment, the man’s surgery, his unemployment, our move, and where they’re currently living and why. All in the span of thirteen minutes. If you’d given us another ten who knows what kind of lands we’d had chartered.

Holy cow! It is Wednesday after all. My mind’s playing tricks on me. It’s been a slow work week with the amount of clients I’ve seen yesterday and today totaling what I usually see in a day. Which is disorienting. But I’ll take it. I need the extra energy to sell our chairs, rugs and couches. And to hopefully get to finishing up painting the back porch. Which reminds me! Just like last year, I took a video of me powerwashing. This time it’s some major moss off of brick, which was oh so satisfying.

Alright, I better be on my way. I’m looking for some comfy pajamas, a few pages of The Alchemist, and then shut eye.

See you tomorrow! Love, Jaclynn
