Cross Country Move: Pray, MT to Buffalo, WY – Day 3 – 3.9/5 Stars

Peter Gabriel’s latest album plays over the car speaker. The way his haunting voice sounds out each word before bellowing his signature pitch for the chorus just feels good. As did our last stop at a sandy shore along Yellowstone Lake. The brown and white peppery sand held Evelyn’s and my attention as waves lapped the shore feet away. I swirled my hand in the sand and pulled out the rocks and pebbles to create a rim around a bowl that resembled an abstract version of Crater Lake.

The usual order of drivers is Dave, me, then Jeff. We portion the time fairly, each taking a spot in the backseat with Evelyn and a stint in the driver’s and passenger seats. But today, I stuck to the back for the majority, wanting Dave and Jeff to have a front-row seat to Yellowstone’s wonders since they’d never been,

A grizzly and her cubs, hundreds of bison, elk, deer, antelope, and a prairie dog were our eye candy through and outside the park. If you At question Wyoming’s amazingness it’s best seen by taking Highway 14 east out of Yellowstone National Park to Highway 20, then over the mountain pass of Highway 16. The jaw-dropping bright reds, hoodoos, and 3 billion-year-old geological features make the state a contender for best of the best.

It’s another day where I’ll let the photos do the talking. As we settle in for the night, I’m excited about what tomorrow holds. The road ahead promises new adventures, unexpected surprises, and more memories to cherish. Thank you for being here with me and sharing these experiences. Until next time, sweet dreams to me, and sweet dreams to you.

Love, Jaclynn
