Let’s Make A Deal

Evelyn’s off to her first friend sleepover, so Dave and I have the evening to ourselves with a date at the 9 pm Beetlejuice showing. Before movie time, though, I strapped on the Magnum Stihl blower—my own kind of ghost-busting tool! The driveway was littered with leaves and acorns, and at full speed, that blower was like a mini-hurricane, sending everything in its path flying. It’s got some serious power, even knocking me back if I’m not braced right.

For Evelyn, we picked up some fun gifts: an Etch-A-Sketch, a whoopie cushion, and a bathroom art piece with two playful penguins, one mid-dive into a tub.

Earlier, Maria and I swung by Tractor Supply to scope out the fruit trees—now 50% off at $20 a pop. But after she threw out an “I’ll take all” deal she snagged them for just $5 each. I’ve got a weekend of digging ahead to plant 20 trees in the field between our homes. With those plus the dollar soil bags we loaded up, the whole area’s shaping up into a mini nursery.

Now, it’s time to call it a night and rest up. Tomorrow, the shovel awaits. Love, Jaclynn
