We’ve appointed a felon into office—one who has on video said it’s okay “to grab women by the pussy.” He is a disgusting pig of a man who has twice been given the most power in our country. The delusion and chaos in people’s minds are part of the problem, but so are the decades of oppression and power that exist in government, the church, and across our land.
My own voice on this matter has been muffled by my own hand. Not wanting to be offensive, I made myself small, so my values went unheard. It is no longer about politics, the economy, or border control. No longer do grocery store or gasoline prices matter. We are in a war with delusion and control. He who speaks the loudest putdowns shapes the narrative, and Trump has been a mastermind at manipulating the masses. I admit, even myself at times.
Without the wool to cover my eyes, I know where I stand on this moral war. I know what’s good, just, and kind. And my daughter will too. She will know where the line is and speak its truth. She will defend her rights and others, even when the fear of retribution shakes her to the core. I will teach her to discern lies from truth and to spot the people who truly care versus those whose words are self-serving.
My fight to protect my voice starts here, on a public platform where I’ve been playing nice. And I’m sorry for that. I’m sorry for allowing fear and insecurity to blind and gag me. No longer.
Resist.
Love, Jaclynn
