Fumbling Forward

How in the heck did I forget to hit that publish button last night? I’m sorry about that! I wrote yesterday’s post on the drive home from Thanksgiving, feeling all proud of myself for finishing early. But my quality control team—also known as Dave—dropped the ball.

I really wish I could just sit down and write in my book already. I’m like a scared kid teetering on the edge of a diving board, staring at the water below. Can someone just give me a push, please?

In the meantime, go check out yesterday’s post. I had so many thoughts swirling in my head, and it felt good to get them out and share. Tonight, though? I’m just a lazy lady sprawled on the couch, half-watching Georgia Tech (Dave’s alma mater) fumbling a lead in the game’s last two minutes.

But even on a low-key night like this, there’s plenty to be grateful for:

  • The roaring, toasty fire crackling in our fireplace.
  • The model train exhibit we visited earlier, especially the 40-something man who was positively beaming as he helped kids work the switches.
  • And, oh, the sweet victory of $2.31 gas, thanks to our Circle K rewards card.

Life’s little joys keep things moving, even when I’m not quite ready to dive in.

Love, Jaclynn
