It’s A New Car!

I’m hungry. Semi-tired. And doing an abysmally poor job of convincing Dave that we need a brand-new car. Perhaps I’m actually just procrastinating writing.

I tell myself I don’t have the right conditions to write. Not enough time. Too close to bed. Not my cute new office space with the space heater’s warmth, and all my cute pictures and decor. But I also know that’s a lie. I can write anywhere, anytime. I’m a beast when it comes to writing.

Currently, I’m writing on a tilted laptop. I don’t know what degree to tell you it’s at, so I’ll go with this: I’m pressed on my left elbow and side — not the one with the thick scab on it, because that would be ouchy — arms stretched out, head on a pillow. I do have my newly arrived extra-cushy blankie with me. A throw blanket that doesn’t leave my toes or any other body part uncovered. It’s how a blanket must be.

Good news: I got Dave to agree to a new car. In two Christmases from now. 716 days. We shook on it. We also agreed that when the time comes, we’ll each present a PowerPoint explaining what we picked and why. Maybe that show-and-tell will turn into a friendly debate, where we sell each other on our viewpoints.

Time will tell.
For now, I’m calling it a night. See you tomorrow.

Love, Jaclynn
