I’m in a “do the bare minimum” mood. Except when it comes to refreshing the house — there, I’m kicking dust bunnies’ butts. I take my O-Cedar mop, toe-press the lever to let physics spin the water out, and swipe along the inch-deep tops of the baseboards.
I’d walked into the office — aka the cat room, as of yesterday — to grab my headphones for writing. An author I like had mentioned in an interview that he uses a certain music mix to get into the mood, and I remembered I have one of those. I’d planned to sink into the depth of the tones and rhythms, just be, and type.
Only now, Dave has stepped in at the exact same time, asking if I want to watch a movie. And I do. I’ve been wanting to rewatch Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind. It used to be an “every couple of months” kind of film for me, back when DVDs lived in our bookcases and got scratched if you weren’t careful.
There’s something about that movie — the quirkiness, the just-right blend of depth, romance, and sci-fi — that gets me every time. Even though I’ve seen it fifty, maybe a hundred times, I always notice something new, or it connects to my life in a way it hadn’t before.
Okay — it’s starting.
Love,
Jaclynn
PS Yes, you heard me right, we have cats now.
