Running Down a Dream

I took off running — out the fire exit door and across the blackened Great Wolf Lodge parking lot.

The flip from 79 degrees to a severe weather wind advisory and biting chill isn’t exactly premium running weather. But compared to tomorrow’s forecast — 20 degrees and wind — I weighed the two and chose today.

Running is starting to feel good again. My body’s finding its groove. My breathing is strong. My muscles are steady. I actually look forward to it now. But if it’s too cold, I’ll take the day off without guilt.

Tonight, though, I’m having too much fun tucked back into the hotel bed, watching a little Seinfeld before sleep.

I’ll make sure to carve out time earlier tomorrow to write.

See you then.
