I’m excited to have this blogging space to hold myself accountable for thinking differently and evolving my thinking. How about you?!
Today while playing virtual poker, I felt relatively confident in my skills. At the same time, I decided to take a lesson from the book “Think Again: The Power of Knowing What You Don’t Know” and asked, “Although that may be true, what else do you have to learn?”
Sometimes I get stuck, and when I do, I notice this desire to explain how I got there. Whether I’m seeking validation, acceptance, or just wanting to hear myself talk, I don’t see much value in my doing this.
So instead, I plan to take stock of situations like a scientist. If my emotions get in the way or get too great, I will take a break. If I get stuck, I will collect data, weeding through the relevant information to discern the quality from the poor data. And I will recruit outside help to hear a new or gain a fresh perspective.
I am going to hold myself accountable for this process. It seems a little daunting right now, but that’s what change is; work.
I got this. You got this. Let’s do this!
Sorry so short, but I need to go play a bit of poker before bed.
Night. Night.
Love, Me.
Lets do this!
