Like a ship in a storm, the waves pound me sideways—unrelenting and unforgiving. The AliExpress seller scam sucked me dry for $150, and my savior, PayPal, spat at me and sided with the seller. Since helplessness nor resignation is written in my life’s mission statement, I slathered that thick, waxy stuff atop my cuts and stepped back in the ring.
A glimmer of hope was finding the tracking number to be fraudulent, and UPS’s ability to confirm it. Now, if AliExpress knows what’s good for them, they’ll issue the refund. Otherwise, I’ll open up more than a case to dispute—I’ll open up a can of whoop-ass.
Three days ago, you witnessed me slaughtering my closet. All things on the floor, washed, reorganized—blammo. It’s like Cinderella’s palace after she marries Prince Charming and the fairy godmother is doing all her maid work in there.
Hanging up my shirt on the one empty hanger and seeing nothing on the floor felt good. Nothing in the laundry felt better. Then came the question: but how long will this last?
Answer: as long as possible. What if I give myself prizes? Mini offerings of thanks. Like what kinds of things? I’m not quite sure. Maybe things for the closet—a mirror, or a cute picture, or baskets for atop my shelves. For each week I keep it spotless, I get a little something. Oh, shoot—I just remembered it was Saturday I cleaned, and it’s only been two days. Oh well, five more to go until I get a surprise!
Guess I’ll go a bit deeper with inspiration and Google cool closets to see what I want to shoot for. So far, a “me”-height ornate mirror, a shoe organizer, and a pretty black-and-white picture are piquing my interest. Also, I like funky, so I had to insert “boho” in front of closet in my search query. The little cat statue is not something I’d likely do, but the hats and bags hung on the wall could work. I’ve been wondering what to do with that big blank wall anyway.
Okay, so five days to go until it’s closet level-up time. For now, stay the course, Jaclynn. Stay the course.
Well, that’s a wrap for today. I’m going to get a few pages of The Lost Apothecary in before beddie-bye time.
Love ya!
